In the post MB-260: Describe support for near real-time updates we go through what the real-time updates are, what the prerequisites are, what can be done and how. In this post, we’ll at the limitations of real-time ingestion of data.
Near real-time updates give you the ability to see the latest interactions customers have with products or services within seconds. The interactions can be shown in the customer card view or other visualisations for the unified customer profile’s timeline in seconds.
Limitations
You can only update a customer profile, not create or delete it.
You can not export activities that are added through the real-time API to external systems. This means that using these activities in for example Power BI is not possible.
Be aware that you’ll need to either write code to connect to the API, or have a valid license for premium connectors and use the Dynamics 365 Customer Insights connector with Power Automate or Logic Apps.
